A comprehensive range of good quality designer greeting cards, centred on the North of England, from Ripon, Bolton Abbey, Ilkley, to Haworth in Bronteland. There are two main divisions within the range. The first range consists of individually titled locations. The second range covers general subjects, from Flowers , animals, Birds, to the very unusual.
Visual Impact of Ilkley was created in 1991 by Dennis R. Matterson, who was born in BenRhydding, Ilkley in 1947. Dennis began his career as a landscape painter of local scenery creating over 600 paintings in various mediums. after studying Art and Design at Harrogate and Bradford Colleges of Art, he worked as a studio artist/visualiser at advertising agencies in London, Leeds, and Bradford. Latterly, Dennis worked as a senior Exhibition Designer creating stand concepts for National and International companies exhibiting at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, the G. Mex Centre, Manchester, and Earls Court, Olympia, London, gaining Design awards for a number of companies. Dennis also works for his local Adult Education Centre as a part time technician and Lecturer, working with Special Needs Groups in Ceramics and Pottery. In 1993 Dennis decided to produce his own local greeting cards, in response to a demand for more personalised pictures of the area. The results proved to be very popular indeed, creating interest from home and overseas.
The
cards are available at selected branches of
Wm. Morrisons Supermarkets plc and local retail outlets.
